On February 26th, 2025, the Chiefs of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador unanimously adopted a resolution reaffirming their support for the Quebec-Labrador First Nations Information Governance Strategy.
This resolution marks an important step in the recognition and implementation of information governance by and for First Nations. Not only did the Chiefs reiterate their support for the strategy, but they also confirmed their support for continuing the work to create a regional information governance centre.
This unanimous recognition reinforces the legitimacy of this promising initiative.
