Strong and Collaborative Information Governance for First Nations
A Team Dedicated to the Strategy
The First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) plays a key role as the host organization for this initiative. With its expertise, resources and services, it provides a stable and solid foundation for successfully carrying out this information governance transformation.
A Collaborative Working Group
The regional working group brings together representatives from the regional commissions and organizations of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador, as well as other First Nations organizations that serve the communities:
Role of the Regional Working Group
The regional working group plays a key role in supporting the project. More specifically, it advises and enriches the project team’s work by providing valuable expertise at every stage. It also actively contributes to the joint development of the strategy and its implementation, thereby ensuring that the actions taken meet the needs and priorities of First Nations communities and organizations.
A National Partner for Information Sovereignty
The First Nations Information Governance Centre oversees all work related to the information governance strategy. Its mission is clear: to ensure that all First Nations communities in Canada benefit from and fully exercise sovereignty over their data, in harmony with their visions, values, and traditions.
This structure adopts a collaborative and multi-sectoral approach, which aims to sustainably strengthen information governance within First Nations.
